WHAT I DO

I’ve always believed that the beauty of an event lies in how it feels, the atmosphere, the textures, the sense that everything just belongs. That’s what I create through styling and curated décor hire.

Based in the Lake District, I style weddings, intimate celebrations, private dining experiences and events throughout Cumbria, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, Northumberland, Scotland and across the UK. As a wedding and event stylist, I combine a carefully curated collection of vintage and contemporary décor with thoughtful styling, layered textures and timeless details to create beautiful tables and atmospheric spaces that feel warm, personal and effortlessly elegant.

Whether you're planning a wedding weekend, a private dinner, milestone celebration, editorial shoot or brand event, I offer flexible prop hire, bespoke styling and on-the-day styling support. Every design begins with your story, creating celebrations that feel authentic to you rather than following trends.

I also work alongside florists, wedding planners, venues and creative teams, seamlessly bringing together the decorative elements that transform a space. From fabric installations and candlelight to table styling and carefully considered finishing touches, I ensure every detail feels balanced, cohesive and beautifully intentional.

HOW TO BOOK:

Simply get in touch with your venue and date, and I’ll check availability before arranging a time to chat through your plans. From there, we’ll tailor a service that fits you perfectly, whether that’s full styling or a few carefully chosen pieces from my collection.

MEET DEBORAH

Hello, I’m Deborah,

I'm the hands and heart behind Deborah Maria, a wedding and event stylist based in the Lake District, creating beautiful tables and thoughtfully styled celebrations across the UK.

My path to styling wasn't a straight one. It began in the world of dance and theatre, where I discovered how lighting, fabric and carefully considered spaces can shape the way people feel. Later, while managing my family's hair salon and studying Events and Hospitality Management, I developed an appreciation for thoughtful service, attention to detail and creating experiences that people remember long after the day itself.

Those experiences naturally led me to wedding and event styling. I was fortunate to begin my journey alongside Janet Wilde of Wilde & Romantic, learning the art of transforming spaces with creativity and intention. When Janet retired, I was honoured to continue the beautiful business she had built, while gradually shaping it into a reflection of my own style and approach.

Today, I work with couples, event hosts, florists, planners and creative teams to create celebrations that feel personal, welcoming and beautifully considered. From intimate private dinners and weddings to editorial shoots and milestone celebrations, I bring together thoughtfully sourced décor, layered textures, candlelight, fabrics and timeless details to create spaces that invite people to slow down, gather together and make lasting memories.

I'm happiest behind the scenes, dressing tables, draping fabrics, placing the final candle or adjusting the smallest detail that no one else will notice, yet somehow makes everything feel complete. It's those quiet finishing touches that transform a beautifully decorated space into one that feels warm, effortless and truly yours.

If you're looking for someone who cares as much about how your celebration feels as how it looks, I'd love to hear your ideas and help bring them to life.

MY VALUES

My commitment to the environment shapes everything I do, from the way I source materials to how I run my studio. I believe in working in harmony with the landscape around me and supporting the local economy. Wherever possible, I collaborate with local florists, artisans, and craftspeople who share the same respect for nature and craft.

Many of the pieces in my hire collection are vintage, refurbished, or made from natural materials. Sustainability isn’t just a trend to me, it’s woven into every decision, from choosing ethical suppliers to reusing, repairing, and repurposing wherever I can.

I’ve minimised single-use plastics within the studio and set up easy recycling systems for all materials. Wherever possible, I work with florists who use seasonal British flowers and share my commitment to environmentally conscious design.

My designs are proudly floral foam-free. I love incorporating living plants from my hire collection, each one thoughtfully replanted or repurposed after your event.
